I'm looking for some kind of fastening to hold several plush plates together, the hole size is about 3mm. I bought a standard nut & bolt, but it doesn't exactly tie in with the aesthetics of the purse I am repairing. It has fabric on it so unable to solder anything.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks, anna.

What material are the plates made from?

I second the rivet, but don't go to hard on the rivet or you can just turn it into a cutter.

You can buy a "tap and die" set which makes absolutely minute screws in any material you wish (i think I've seen them on e-Bay because we were thinking about getting one)
