Happy New Year peeps.

I'm on a foundation degree and my second unit is to research casting processes. So I was wondering if any of you lovely peeps out there can give me any information on casting process from hints and tips to useful websites to your own experiences of casting.

I also need so help in finding corporate companies that use casting and also independent jewellery artist who use casting. I'm especially looking for jewellery artist who have made one off pieces of jewellery due to the cast being lost. I think you term it as "Lost cast" from examples seen in jewellery books.

So if any of you guys can help me I would appreciate it very much.

Hope you all have a wonderful 2010.

Kind regards bubbleshell - AKA Hannah.

I think you mean lost wax casting. This is a process for forming a mould cavity and is used in anything from aircraft turbine blades to earrings. there are many steps to take to get to the final object, get in touch via private message and I will tell you more. What college are you at? if it is near to Sheffield or Birmingham you will find plenty of commercial enterprises that do large scale or large number castings
