Oh! Well done Bridget! I've just got my first 'gemstone' purchases through the post this morning...mostly moonstone, smokey quartz, almandite garnet and Brazillian amethyst...and mainly cabs although I got seduced by a couple of facetted stones too!! I got my Cogswell through mid week. Now all I need is the time to read and play! It's all rather exciting!! Great things hoped for in 2010!!!:Y:

Here's a photo of my 'stash'!!...Ooooo...I'm so excited!!!:dance:850

gemstones are so collectable, Bee, even if you don't use them for years. I have a huge stash and I'm currently lusting after more - and I don't have the Cogswell yet (haven't even ordered it as himself seems to be going through a rather grumpy phase ;)).

I've had a couple of gemstone pages open for a few days now - they just come up when I log on - cos I can't decide what I want most. #-o

Well done Bridget! I like that is 'off set' on the oval too! I admire you for your ability to be able to do that. I have a few unusual shaped cabs that I want to do something with but all I can think of is plain bezels cos I want everything to be even and straight :(|

Lush stash B!!

I've just realised that I've not commented - despite looking admiringly at this thread several times! Sorry Bridget - I think it's lovely - and I too really like the way you've rotated the bezel against the mount.

How have you done the adjustable bit? I'm always interested in this as it does make producing rings 'for stock' so much easier.

Lovely! I too like the rotation of the stone, it really changes the whole look of the setting. Well done!:Y:

Nice stash Barbara, love the amethyst, they are my absolute favourite!!! x

Sadly - the enormous 'amethyst' is, in fact a purple cubic zirconia...very pretty but I probably would have preferred an amethyst of that colour and size!!!:xmaslaugh: I wanted a range of sizes and shapes to practice on and that one just 'fell into my hands'! (On-ist Guv'!) The other stones are all 'real'. The 2.65ct, 9mm amethyst cab is real and very pretty - so I hope I can do something really nice for that one!:Y:
