Here are some sellers I've found Bridget, but I've not used them myself so can't vouch for the service etc.

6mm Glass Crackle Bead Assortment - Hill Tribe Silver, Sterling Silver, Silver Plated, Gemstones, Swarovski, Pearls, Beadalon, Glass, Beads, Chain & Findings. (http://www.silvermoonbeads.com/acatalog/6mm_Glass_Crackle_Bead_Assortment.html)

Bead Store: Beads, Findings, Kits and Beaded Jewellery (http://www.bead-store.co.uk/catalog/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=355)

Not sure if these are the type you mean....?

I've only come across crackle glass beads - which would turn into cabs pretty easily as they have a habit of disintegrating ;)

If you just want the clear ones, the silver corp usually have them, if you want coloured, ebay's as good as anywhere. It's worth trying to get czech rather than indian glass, as it's usually slightly better quality.

Or you could ask a lampworker or fuser to replicate the effect in a cab perhaps?

Do you mean crackle quartz? Ive seen some little cabs which are clear quartz and have a 'crackle' type effect if thats what you mean...

i think it is the quartz i'm after either in cabs or faceted, as i have a ring set with one and i'd like to get some so i can do some myself.

This is a place I have seen some...not many choices of sizes but worth a look Gemstone Cabochons - Clear Quartz - Round - Clear Quartz / Rock Crystal 8mm Cabochon (http://www.marquisejewels.co.uk/Clear-Quartz-/-Rock-Crystal-8mm-Cabochon/606.htm)
I haven't used this company myself so cant say whether quality is great....others might know of somewhere better.....hope you find what you are looking for anyway :) :)

I've bought from Marquise many times, lovely people to deal with, and some very competitive prices. I'd happily recommend them :)
