I have put my finished rings on Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ominicci/). I had only really done a bead spinner ring before (also on there) which didn't need any soldering.

There is also a photo of my hallmark (which I am beginning to like now I can see it!) This is one of the best struck marks in the batch I sent.

Those are fab Nicci - I specially love the labradorite ones :)

I think the hallmark looks good - your sponsor's mark could be a bit closer to the rest of them, but I think otherwise it's nice :)

Out of curiousity, was there a reason why you chose Edinburgh?

Gorgeous rings Nicci - I like the setting on the tiger's eye with the ornate gallery. Those chunks of labradorite and the cabs are stunning with great flashes :D

Thanks everyone!

George I chose Edinburgh because I liked the castle mark mainly (although you can only just see it lol). I will post a pick of the hallmark on the maille bracelet jumpring in a bit.

Gorgeous Nicci, and the hallmark is lovely, I was pretty chuffed with my first 925 stamp so I'd never stop admiring a hallmark!

Hi Nicci,

I love your malachite ring, I have always favoured big rings with unusual shaped stones and I am so pleased that you are much happier with your hallmarking now, I think that they are wonderful and I wish I had some too!! ( I'm not sure that it is very normal to get so giddy over another person's hallmarking !?:dancing:

Ha ha, I still don't know what to think about the malachite ring, DH thinks it is hideous and I made it with quite a large shank size so that it doesn't fit me on purpose; otherwise I would have tried it for a while myself. I love the malachite, but don't think the ring style suits my hand at all. Malachite is so soft you can file and sand it like silver, I almost wish I had made two smaller cabs from it.

Jo - Yes try it; much easier lol!

Love the rings & it must be fab to see your hall mark on them
be careful when sanding Malachite the dust is toxic. ;)

I didn't know that! Luckily I used wet 'wet n dry' paper so that kept the dust down, (and got rid of it afterwards). It was only to round off the corners to make it a more regular oval shape as it was uneven. Phew!
