Hiya

I am wanting to drill some stones i have polished (they are beach/river stones), and am about to purchase this

Pillar Drill 5-Speed Hobby Model 583mm Height 330W/230V SDM30: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000RA14FS/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A29TH01F0VDAOP)

But just want to make sure I am buying the right bit of kit for this... Does anyone have any helpful hints for me? I won't be drilling longways through the stone, just a simple hole at either end. I do know i need Diamond drill bits.

many thanks in advance!

The stones are best drilled under water and you need to take it really slow

thanks for your reply, Nic. Do you think this piece of kit will be the right way to go?

Not sure as it doesn't say what the slowest speed is...
I'd be more inclined to get a variable speed drill
(so you can go really slow if needed)
