:(| I recently went for an interview over at Cheltenham, but did not get it. I graduated back in 1999 and seriously determined to get back in to this precarious trade. What I would like to know is what IS THE BEST WAY to get your foot in? I am also considering doing another jewellery course, extra to my degree. I did want to find an apprentice type course but they appear to be imaginary.

Can anyone help me ? What would be the best way in?:~::confused:::juggle:

Hi Jo
Can't really suggest a way to get in as an apprentice, the positions are few and far between.
Keep an eye on the trade press, sometimes ad's appear in them.
Extra courses are always useful :)
Good Luck

Do you get Benchpeg (http://newsletter.benchpeg.com)? There are positions in there sometimes - weekly into your inbox.

When I was at the Goldsmiths fair a couple of weeks ago, I heard a jeweller tell a guy that she started just by selling to galleries. Maybe you could go and hassle a few :Y:

Could you possibly tell me a bit about the course you did, what you learnt etc. Have any pictures of things you made? ANy information helps. How long did you do it for?

What is your goal in the jewellery trade?

What County do you live in? How far would you be willing to travel?
