Tumbling ????

Quick question folks, when items are made and pickled do you tumble them before you set the stones or after ?? Or does it make any difference at all ??? :confused:

Depends on the stone. If it has a hardness of less than 5.5 on the mohs scale, then it can't be tumbled. Anything above that (unless it's friable) goes in after setting for me.

If you tumble an empty setting made with fine bezel strip, it's worth popping something into it to stop it from deforming.
