I have a piece of wood and would like to print/press the texture of its surface in some way onto my silver, but I don't want to cast the entire piece piece of wood due to its large size. One suggestion given to me was to use silver clay. Are there any other ways please? Like perhaps making a mould and using wax to pick up the detail and then casting that? And if so, what materials do I need and what technique do I use please? Thank you! I have tried the food grade silicone mould and poured melted Ferris wax (the light pink one that comes in sheets) but the wax forms lots of bubbles.

Some pictures may help, to help prevent bubbles forming vibrate the mould as you fill it

You can also press wood into Delft Clay for casting, but if it has not been sealed, it might need to be wet. D
