Hello all just joined so I’m saying hi.

I’m Jason. From the North East of England, and I’m a newbie to jewellery – I’ve been doing wire wrapped jewellery for a number of years but unfortunately that doesn’t satisfy my need to hit things with a hammer so I’ve started on fabricating stuff out of wire, sheet and other stuff.

My “workshop” is the bench in the garage, above the lawn mower, hedge trimmer and storage boxes.

Still playing around and learning the ropes. Not got my own style yet but I’ve been making a few things out of old coins which does involve a lot of whacking the piece with a hammer/punch/mallet so that bit’s satisfied.

I do like the jewellery of the Southwest Tribes, especially the Hopi, so I’m currently working of a necklace inspired by the Squash Flower necklaces, but with my own take on it.

Welcome jay-ell

looks as though you are well on you way, plenty of knowledge around hear. Members are not reluctant to share knowledge as is the case some on some other sites.
