Morning all.
I have a inherited an electric furnace for melting metals. I have had it safety tested and purchased some new graphite crucibles for its use. Question, do I pretreat the graphite crucible with borax powder in the same way as the ceramic scorifier?

Thanks so much,
Les.

Thanks Dennis, the consensus appears to be 300 degrees in the oven for about an hour to drive out moisture then coated with borax.

Cheers.
