Hi all,
I’ve picked up a secondhand marathon 3 micro motor, it has the larger collet and was wondering if there’s anywhere in the U.K. to get the 2.35 size to fit?
Cookson sell a 2.35 collet but does anyone know if this would fit my model?
Product code 999 DDN

Thanks

A wide variety of micromotors, made in China and Korea masquerade under the name of Marathon, so our chances of replacing the collet are slim.

If your handpiece has a curly lead which unplugs, you might consider just buying a spare handpiece like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lab-Dental-Jewelry-Micromotor-Polishing-polisher-35K-rpm-Handpiece-For-Marathon/163592599105?hash=item2616e0f641:g:50IAAOSwcGtch1h i. Dennis.

Thanks for the info Dennis, that’s a good price for the whole handset.
I’ve ordered a marathon collet from here, hopefully it fits!
I’ve tested the machine and it’s so much quieter than what I was using before, and the speed control is great

Turns out the “999 Z002” does fit the marathon 3, in case anyone else was wondering.
