Draw out a crown template on a piece of paper and then use this to outline the design on the silver sheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rest the silver on a benchpeg and use a piercing saw to cut out the crown shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remove the blue plastic from the silver sheet and place on a heat proof brick. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use a hand held blow torch to heat the ring evenly, annealing the silver. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The silver is annealed when it glows a dull red.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the silver has cooled a little quench in water using tweezers to hold and then put in a warm acid pickle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remove the silver from the pickle solution, rinse and dry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Place the silver on a steel block, you may wish to secure it with double sided tape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strike the surface of the silver using the craft hammer with the ball shaped head attached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Place the ring on a fire proof brick and add some flux to the join. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cut a small piece of hard solder and place underneath the join. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use a hand blowtorch evenly over the ring until the solder melts and flows. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When slightly cooled, quench the ring in water using tweezers to hold it and then add to a warm acid pickle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When rinsed and dry use needle files to file away any excess solder and then use emery boards on the join to smooth it over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Place the ring on a triblet or ring mandrel and use a leather mallet to strike the ring and make it round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a flat surface place a piece of emery paper and move the ring around the emery paper in a figure of 8 movement to ensure the edge is flat<\/p>\n\n\n\n
