Step 1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To make the double square stud earrings place one Silver square<\/a> on top of another and add a small amount of hard or medium solder paste to where the squares touch.<\/p>\n\n\n

Step 2 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Use a Silver earring post<\/a> underneath the higher square to prop up the other side of the square so it is level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heat the squares gently and evenly until the solder melts and flows.<\/p>\n\n\n

Step 3<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Use tweezers to pick up the squares, quench\/cool in water and add to a hot pickle solution to clean.<\/p>\n\n\n

Step 4 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To solder on the earring posts<\/a> to the Silver squares, add a small amount of easy solder paste to the earring post. Use third hand tweezers to hold and position the earring post on the Silver square, ensuring the post and square are touching. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gently heat the square and post evenly until the solder melts and flows. Use tweezers to pick up the earrings, quench\/cool in water and add to a hot pickle solution to clean.<\/p>\n\n\n

Step 5 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To solder on the Silver square to the stud earring bezel<\/a> add a small amount of easy solder paste on the square and place on the reverse of the bezel stud earrings. You may want to hold the earring post<\/a> in place with reverse action tweezers so it does not fall off if accidentally heated too much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gently heat the square and bezel evenly until the solder melts and flows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use tweezers to pick up the earrings, quench\/cool in water and add to a hot pickle solution to clean.<\/p>\n\n\n

Step 6<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To set the stone, drill a 1mm hole in your benchpeg or piece of wood.<\/p>\n\n\n

Step 7 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Push the stud earring<\/a> into the hole until the bezel is sat flat against the wood.<\/p>\n\n\n

Step 8 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Use a steel burnisher to push the side of the bezel over the stone and then repeat on the opposite side of the stone<\/a>. Keep pushing the bezel over the stone<\/a> until it is even and smooth. Use the burnisher around the bezel until the Silver is smooth and shiny.<\/p>\n\n\n

Step 9 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Set the earring with bezel and the square in the same way.<\/p>\n\n\n

Step 10 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To finish all the earrings, place the earring post onto a polishing cloth and use the steel burnisher rub over the post and harden and shine it. Use the polishing cloth to rub over each earring and make it shine.<\/p>\n\n\n
