The designs chosen in this project represent the star sign Aquarius. Place on a non-stick mat with two plastic strips either side. Use a rolling pin to roll out your clay to a thickness of approximately 3mm. Place your stamp or texture sheet over your clay and gently apply pressure to leave an impression in the clay. You can use metal balm on your rolling pin, fingers and stamp to help stop the clay sticking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">Step 3 <\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"614\" height=\"461\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cooksongold.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25209\" style=\"width:500px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>CUT YOUR SHAPE AND DRY<\/strong><br>Use a round cutter or scalpel to cut out a circle shape and use a pick or blunt instrument to make<br>a hole at the top. Remove your silver clay pendant from your mat and leave to dry in a warm room<br>for 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">Step 4<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"614\" height=\"461\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cooksongold.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25210\" style=\"width:500px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NEATEN AND SMOOTH YOUR PENDANT<\/strong><br>Use emery paper or needle files to remove any rough edges and gently sand the reverse of<br>your pendant. Use a drill piece to gently even out your hole. Silver clay can be brittle at this stage so be gentle. Filing and smoothing your pendant at this stage will save filing and sanding it when it\u2019s fired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">Step 5<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"614\" height=\"461\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cooksongold.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25211\" style=\"width:500px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>BLOWTORCH YOUR PENDANT AND COOL<\/strong><br>Using a blowtorch, fire your silver clay pendant. The binder in the clay will burn away and the clay will<br>brighten and glow. At this stage, hold the heat for 2\u20133 minutes. Leave to cool. The clay will shrink<br>in size by about 10\u201315%. This varies depending on the brand and type \u2013 check the instructions<br>for details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">Step 6 <\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"614\" height=\"461\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cooksongold.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/6-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25212\" style=\"width:500px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>CUT YOUR GOLD FOIL<\/strong><br>Cut out a disc in Gold foil the same size as your pendant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">Step 7<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"614\" height=\"461\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cooksongold.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/7-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25213\" style=\"width:500px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>FUSE YOUR GOLD FOIL AND PENDANT<\/strong><br>Switch on your electric hotplate and place your pendant on top. Place your Gold foil on top and use an agate burnisher or steel burnisher to apply pressure to the Gold foil so it fuses to the surface of your pendant. Be careful as your metal will get very hot. Reverse the twisting process to close your jump ring.
