Add faceted natural gemstones to your collection with this easy to follow wire ring tutorial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cut two lengths approx. 140mm of 0.80mm wire and bind together with 0.40mm wire starting approx. 40mm from the end. (Note: you could use any weave on the ring band that you choose)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Continue the binding or weave of your choice until you have a length long enough to go around the ring mandrel at one size larger than you require as when we wrap around the ring band later the size will reduce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Open out the ring band as shown to create a space slightly shorter than the length of your gemstone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Curve the inner wires towards the opposite side of the ring band as shown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 5:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Check that your gemstone will sit comfortably in the space between the wires. (Note: you may need to adjust slightly to get a correct fit)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 6:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Wrap the wire around the ring band twice as shown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 7:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cut the excess wire on the second wrap just short of the width of the ring band as shown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 8:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Use flat nose pliers to press the wire down to secure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 9:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Repeat steps 6 \u2013 8 on the opposite side.\u00a0 Your ring should now look like this.-<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 10:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Place the gemstone onto the ring band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 11:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Hold the gemstone in position and bring each outer wire across the gemstone as shown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 12:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Holding wires in place on the gemstone pull the end of the wire around so that you almost create a loop. (Note: keep the wires as close to the top of gemstones as possible to hold securely in place)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 13:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Continue the curve of the wire until it meets the opposite side of the ring band and wrap the wire around the ring band twice as shown.     <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 14:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Repeat step 13 on the opposite side.\u00a0 Cut off excess wire and secure as you did in steps 6 – 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 15:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Your ring is now complete and ready to wear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
