Cookson recycled gold has been recycled back via a traceable process into fine gold. The feed material for it comes in the form of scrap from market sectors such as the jewellery, giftware, medical and electronics industries.
When you buy recycled gold from Cookson Precious Metals you're purchasing a 100% recycled gold with none of the associated human or environmental problems that can sometimes be associated with mining. You're also buying gold whose origins will appeal to your customers - in an increasingly eco-aware marketplace.

I haven't cast since my college days and thought this would be an ideal solution for my smallhobby workshop. I watched online several demonstrations and read many blog posts on the ease and success of the Delft Clay system before I committed to purchasing this starter kit as well as a crucible, tongs for the crucible and casting borax. Oh Dear! Despite trying many times and using all the troubleshooting guides I have still to produce a clean or complete cast. I really wanted this to work I would love to be able to produce some small castings yet I seem to be the exception to the rule when it comes to Delft clay. I've now given up out of sheer frustration, and banished this kit to a dark corner of my studio, as the thought of the money I wasted in purchasing it and its accoutrements is killing me! Although, I see from a previous review it can be used to support items while soldering. so perhaps I can use it up that way. Nevertheless it was an expensive way to obtain soldering supports.Hopefully if you purchase this system you'll have more joy than I did and won't feel the fool. I thought long and hard about writing this review as I know so many have found this a great product but I had to be honest and admit I was bitterly disappointed.

Although designed for, and excels at casting any small one off item I have found it invaluable for supporting any uneven items I have to solder together. Just follow the instructions to fill and level 1 ring, then push the first part halfway into the clay for example, a ring setting , ensuring it is level, followed by the ring shank, add some braze paste, heat and hey presto perfectly in line soldered joints.

I havnt found a product on the market that will allow short run of castings, the system takes some getting used to but when you do the quallityof the finnished items is only just short of other more expensive methods of casting. The cost per item is minimaland as the clay is reusable the a bag of clay lasts for months, I have found that I get far more than the 99 casts that the instructions suggest. There are some limitations to the system namley that youcannot cast items with undercutsbut if you plan ahead you can produce almost any item with this syatem by making your items in multiple parts, if you are stuck for a casting method other than the cuttlefish thatrequires a great deal of finishing give the delft clay a try you WILL be amazed.
