Preserving Wax Polish
First developed by the British Museum as an acid-free preserving wax for use on antique arterfacts, Renaissance polishing wax is favoured by many jewellery makers. At Cooksongold we stock Renaissance micro-crystalline polishing wax starting from 65ml and going up to 200ml.
Useful in workshops primarily for sealing patinas created by liver of sulphur on metal, the preserving wax also has a range of other uses. Use to prevent the oxidization of metal to keep your tools from rusting and as a protective finishing wax on materials including wood, polymer clay, leather, and resin. Renaissance wax can also be used to prevent precious metals and base metals from oxidisation when fired.
