Brilliant stuff

Started out making silver bangles and rings as a hobby nearly a year ago and had mixed results with wire solder. Finally bit the bullet and ordered a 10g syringe and it really has changed the way i solder. Its much more precise in my hands than strip or wire solder, neater, so much less fliddly and has given me much more confidence to attempt more intricate soldering with my basic old hand torch.Glad I started with wire solder as it did teach me a lot about the mechanics of soldering silver but this stuff just makes the whole process faster and stress-free. Cant recommend it enough.

confidence in a syringe

I love using this solder, it worked well on my copper stack rings, flows quickly and easily, even though only 10g in the syringe, it lasts for aagggeeeesssss, less is more it would seem.Very pleased will next be getting medium and hard solder for my multi level projects.

Does the job

It flows well, it does the job.But failed at practicality for me as the paste keeps flowing through the syringe after use so had to remove it or I would have ended up with wasting the paste.

I love this product

I am very new to jewellery making and thought I would try this solder having spent some time chasing solder around the item I am making. I wasted a little to start with but now use some liquid flux and then add this to the join. I use very little so I think it is good value for money rather than pinging bits of solder around my workshop when cutting it up. I can make a chain in half the time now that I did previously and some of the joins are so good that very little making good is required afterwards. I will continue to use this item on a regular basis.

Superb for quick accurate repairs

Many people say that the syringe solder is more expensive, than conventional strip. This is true, but you are paying for the convenience. The solder has flux pre mixed with it and the syringe applicator means you can apply exactly what you need where you need it. Hence, little or no time wasted sanding off the excess later. Due to the accuracy, a little goes along way, so this tube will last a very long time. Perhaps you would not use it for larger items, but for wirework or repairs is perfect. I use this easy version and it does melt very easily. This makes it a superb choice for small delicate repairs such as chain mending or soldering jump rings. Unlike the traditional solder pallions, it stays where its put so you really can put it exactly where you want it, just on the join of a tiny jump ring without getting solder flux everywhere.Whilst the paste does contain flux ready mixed, I do still add a little borax on the jopint, just to prevent the it from oxidising before the solder melts. As always, the golden rules still apply, the joint needs to be clean and close fitting. Do not think that you can squirt a bead of this to fill a hole or gap, it still solder and works the same. Its just the application of it that been made easier. If you do a lot of repairs or perhaps you are into wirework then youll never look back. I have a friend with a repair shop and he uses nothing else. He has a full set off all grades and assays on a wall rack. He claims the increased speed and efficiency of small repairs is well worth the extra little money.I agree!
