This book is a very comprehensive guide to a multitude of jewellery making techniques from how to choose your metal to piercing, annealing and soldering to create a wonderful piece of jewellery.There are other techniques such as forging metal, chasing and repousse, enameling, and even etching. For those wanting to branch out a little further with their skills there are stone setting techniques and casting techniques to create your own unique items.The book is very detailed with photographs showing different stages of each process in addition, a list of tools and equipment needed for each task is listed - most of which is readily available to buy from Cookson Gold!This would be a great beginners guide into the art of jewellery making, however, it also doubles as a great reference ’bible’ for the more experienced jeweller. I would highly reccomend this book as a must for any jeweller.
