cold propane

I too have bought an oxygen concentrator from tuffnells glass to use with my little torch and on first trying it with propane I couldn't make the small nozzle on the torch work, I have found that with moving my concentrator and propane bottle inside though separated for safety with the gas warmer, it works perfectly well, it makes a huge difference to the operation of all of the nozzles, increasing the flame size and the temperature of them all. I hope this helps for what is a brilliant little torch.

should have bought years ago

This is pricey but worth every penny, I can now use my ingot mould to cast silver in no time at all. I bought an oxygen concentrator from Tuffnells glass again pricey but no oxygen bottles needed. Now use far less propane for every job as much hotter torch and it is so light to hold and use. The smallest tip is for acetylene not butane and having tried it with propane it just blows out. I had my ingot mould for 3 years but couldn't get the old torch hot enough to cast anything now have casted round wire in the largest and smallest sizes first time. Great

Small Torch - Gig Heat

If you are looking to upgrade to a gas and oxygen torch then you cant go far wrong with this model. Firstly, its a huge seller all over the world. The Smiths Little Torch is well established and respected. It also has a full range of nozzles for every task as well as great support and spare parts available. So once you buy it, you will have it for life.Despite its small size the range of nozzles means you can have a tiny precise flame from under one inch up to several inches, for melting and casting. There is even an optional casting nozzle capable of melting 3 Oz of silver. The fine nozzle tips are actually made from tiny sapphires, drilled with lasers. The finest being so small, that the hole cant be seen with the naked eye. So this really is a precision instrument.Dont forget that if you are new to gas and oxygen then you will need to get gas propane or butane tank, Oxygen tank, 2 appropriate regulators and 2 flashback arrestors. So initial set-up can cost a bit, but its a one off investment. The due to the fine nozzles the Smiths Little Torch uses hardly any gas and so its extremely economical once set up.Quick and easy to use, the nozzles can be changed without any tools. The flame can be controlled by smooth action form the valves. The torch is well made and comfortable to use. A great quality buy, well worth it.
