It is an incredibly light saw frame, which undoubtedly makes piercing less tiring. But, I probably break the same number of blades with it as I did with my old one the result of thinking about the wrong things while sawing rather than any problem with the tool. All in all, I like the new saw but Im not blown away by it and I keep my old adjustable one handy for reusing the blades I break.

Purchased this saw frame because my other one was useless. As a novice silversmith I have found this frame excellent to work with. It is amazingly light. The blades are easy to fit and the tension screw is simple and quick to use to achieve the desired tension. A little pricey but well worth the money. I would recommend this to any one and would never revert to using the basic saw frames. As always the Cookson service was excellent.

Please can I give it 10 stars. I was given this as a gift and its BRILLIANT. I have three other frames bought a long time ago - 20 -15 years ago and they are not a patch on this. I think its great
