Worked a treat with COPPR clay

I bought a bag of these to try as an alternative to drilling holes in charms for earrings etc. I tried a handful in recent pieces and they worked better than I expected. I was wondering if I might just get a molten blob stuck to the clay, when COPPR is fired so hot.The pieces I was making were perhaps too thin to push them into the wet clay and I suspect that might be tricky to do well other than on quite chunky pieces. I think that I would perhaps prefer to drill a pilot hole in dry clay and insert them with paste.Because my pieces were thin and I didn want the shape of the eyelet to show on the front by causing a bulge, I carved a little hollow in the back of the dry clay for them, filled it with paste and pressed the eyelets into the recess and placed a wet clay design element over the top to reinforce it, ensuring that the eye was caught in too so it cant be pulled out. After firing and clay shrinkage, the result is a neat little 34 circle projecting atop the piece, perfect to attach to an earwire or larger bail for pendants. I liked them so much, Ive bought some larger bails to try too.
