How do I light a sievert torch?!!

I have just bought a sievert pro from cooksongold. I've connected the regulator, hose and handle. I've tightened all the joints with a wrench. I need to get a lighter but in the mean time tried to light it with a Match but it just blew the match out. What am I doing wrong and do I just need a lighter or do I need to consider something else?? Many thanks,

It lights best turned on low. There are all sorts of lighters, including one that sparks when you touch your torch on it.

In the mean time your mini torch is as good as anything. Matches are wasteful and can be a fire hazard if left smouldering. Dennis.

You need to hold your light underneath and not in from of the gas or it does just blow out

Turn the gas lower (on the torch handle) while lighting would be my guess - per Dennis' suggestion. What pressure are you running at the regulator?

It's a fixed regulator at 2

I use a £1 flexible neck lighter I got in tesco. Keep the gas low and light your lighter below the nozzle and bring it up in to the gas.

I find with mine sometimes the gas burns away from the nozzle unless you get your lighter tip really close..
