    Default Mini knife pendant

    Hi guys,

Just thought I'd show a few pics of a miniature knife pendant I made for my partners birthday. He is a custom knife maker and this is a scaled down version of his "Eagle" knife. Made in sterling silver and desert ironwood. It needs a bail and chain but I'm out of silver atm so will be finished off shortly.

I really like that Rachael, especially the modelling of the handle, and the way the rivets have ended flush with the wood. Dennis.

    Thanks everyone

I didn't bother putting an edge on it as I'd rather keep him in one piece

Picky, picky. I don't see why knife maker's alopecia shouldn't extend to chest hair!

That looks brilliant Rachael! I did a cleaver pendant for a butcher a while ago and really wanted to give it a wooden handle but couldn't figure out for the life of me how to do it. Did you file and carve tiny slivers of wood then rivet them?

thanks Lauren It's made in the exact same way his real knives are made.. The blade was cut out from silver sheet, then I used off cuts from his handles to cut out the handles for mine. Then I drilled holes in all 3 pieces, poked the tube/wire through to make sure they fitted and then glued everything together with 2 part epoxy. Once everything is glued solid I then went and shaped the handles with my dremel, polished and oiled I'm just waiting for the glue to dry on another one now

Very clever! Thanks for sharing your method - I may have another go at a cleaver one day.
