That is an absolutely brilliant use of mixed metals, which in my opinion can be a tricky thing to do. Love his teeth!

not a prayer this month - and she's not had her clean and polish yet, but got to add one of my spiders (not able to get on here much at the mo) - I checked - they are classed as an animal!
Her body is silver clay, and each leg is made from one section of 1.5mm wire and two of 1mm. The chain was made from 0.8mm wire. I have been doing a fair bit of soldering this week - and another 4 spiders left to make! It's a personal project, inspired by by arachnophile friend Dan.

    Hi everyone,

This is my little entry. It was a last minute present for my boyfriend's mother's 65th birthday (with two days notice!). Made from sterling sheet, wire and a rose gold wire rivet for the birdy's eye.

I've only made pieces for friends and family so far so this is the first time anyone else will have seen anything I've made!

This isn't the kind of the thing I would usually make but any comments are welcome. Thanks!

I love the jaguar and the way that all the different metals have been used to great effect.

The hummingbirds are stunning Hans. Such craftmanship and gorgeous colours.

I'm an arachranophobe, but still rather like the spider. It won't be scuttling around at vast speed, which is the main bit that frightens me about them.

Sweet little bird, Lucy, and really on-trend at the moment. I am sure that she will love it.

What a fantastic standard and variety of entries! I'm so glad I'm too busy studying to enter, still finishing some chasing and repousse that was supposed to be for the holiday theme....maybe it will come in for next year?

I love the spider, I couldn't wear it though because it's so realistic I'd probably glance down and try to swat it off in a panic!

Spidey is beautiful. The way you've attached her to the chain is ingenious and I love how the piece hangs as a result. She is one elegant arachnid!

It's very cute and the layering gives it a lovely dimensionality. Lucky birthday lady!
