Thank you Spectra! I hope I can figure out how to revolve my pictures but they are right side up before I post them. Sian I was just admiring your little pendant - I wouldn't know where to begin on something like that, very nice!

Thanks Sandra =D
The construction was relatively simple enough, the added details make the pendant look a bit more complicated that it really is. First, I cut a tiny rectangle from silver sheet and filed the ends to round them off. The following pictures taken from my facebook page will explain the rest. Feel free to use the demo for your own projects. You might need to raise the bezel though if the stone you're using is really slim in height (makes stone setting alot easier) =)
Your dragonfly is lovely! The texture works brilliantly for sure =D

I couldn't resist adding an entry into this months gold theme competition.
This was one of my designs for a 5 inch high photo frame, I made it from 18ct.gold. The trellis work oval frame and flowers were all hand engraved, pierced and shaped (no casting whatsoever), the enamelling and diamond setting was not my work.
James
James that is absolutely stunning!

I love all the entries so far, and the picture frame really is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship and design
I decided to to go laterally rather than literally for the competition this month. My disclaimer is that I have never in the past nor shall I in the future go to a gold mine, so this item is just "an artist's impression"...
So I imagined gold in the ground. The techniques are reticulation & fusion of silver and following on from the great discussion on Keum Boo; (is that correct spelling?) I then tried that aswell. For photographic reasons I blackened the silver to provide a greater contrast of the metals. Then to ensure the gold had "fused" to the silver I threw it in the barrel for a couple of hours. The pendant is 2.5cm x2.0cm.
Poor old Les
I really like that Les, love the texture and that you've put a different slant on the theme.
