Lovely and well done. Just out of interest, how did you make the satin finish. I have never been taught properly and although I make satiny things, I normally use either wire wool or a fine wire brush with fairy liquid on, but there must be an easier way.
Abrasive spongy pads and blocks that painters use for rubbing down are good for me, but best of all are green Scotchbrite mops for lathe or flexshaft. Sarah's effect was special. I wonder what she used too. Dennis.
I just used a combination of emery paper and a frosting wheel. I had started the piece intending for the main body to have more of a dappled finish, it was only because some solder accidentally ran that I changed tactic (although was rather glad it did as I prefer this finish now)
Well done Louisella76, lovely piece.
