I love this, very clever the way you created the texture. I love items that make me think "I wish I'd thought of that", just as this brooch does.

I've been debating on entering this piece as I'm not happy with it. I normally don't show anything that I'm not satisfied with, but as it was designed and made specifically for this competition, I'm going against my normal rules and posting it. It's also my first atempt ever at making a silver spoon. The bowl of the spoon was formed using a doming block and then a bangle madrel, as I haven't got a spoon mandrel tool yet (the cheapest I've found yet costs in excess of £100, I've heard that a shape can be carved from a wood stump to help spoon forming, does anyone know how effective this method is & is there a specific type of wood that's needed?)
The main reason I'm not entirely happy with it is I feel I might have gone slightly overboard with the decoration. Also, I wanted to have a wooden picture frame type thing made for it as it's purely a decorative item, but there won't be enough time for that so anyway, here is my entry this month, the Ivy & green amber teaspoon.
