Default Inserting tube setting in bangle

    Hi - me again!
I have been trying to fit a tube setting between each end of a 4mm round wire silver bangle and having real difficulty getting the ends of the wire the right shape to fit snugly around the tube before soldering. Is there a formula for working out the shape or shall I just continue filing until the right angle is reached? (the bangle is slowly getting shorter!) I am using a small fine half round file. Perhaps I need a bigger one?
Any advice will be gratefully received.
    Going to bed now.....goodnight

Well Theresa, the crucial bit you left out of your question is: how big is the tube? You mention an angle, but do you mean a curve?

Ideally you use a round file or a cylindrical burr the same size as the tube you wish to insert. If the tube diameter is smaller than the bangle, you can also solder the bangle closed and holding it in a vice, drill a hole in stages for your tube, starting quite small.

Failing that you can only persevere with a half round needle file that is similar in shape to one half of the tube. Dennis.

Many thanks Dennis, I understand now. I was using the wrong size to create the curve (The tube is 6mm)
