    That does rather explain the support stand they also sell... I've only just finished making some new mounting wedges/blocks for the shelf (it was s/h and didn't come with any), so it hasn't had much use like that yet.

    Thanks so much Clarey, but it really wasn't so difficult, I think that its just a case of getting your head around the fact that its just lots of little processes, each step you can do easily enough, sometimes its just hard to get our heads around.

    I used the engraving ball yesterday peter just to hold a large ring Im setting with a huge rutilated quartz, It was lovely, so solid to work on! I think I may do more setting on there rather than in the benchmate.
