    Default Guilding Metal?

A jeweller suggested to me today that I could consider using guilding metal to practise my silversmithing skills. Up until now I have used copper and brass for the occasional 'practise piece'. Apparently the guilding metal behaves a lot more like silver.

Could anyone out there tell me more, and where I could get some, and a rough idea of prices?

    Many thanks

    FVT.

Thanks George....yes I quickly realised my spelling mistake

Interested to give this a go, as I have some sheet silver, but sometimes just stare at it, too scared to waste it as I am still learning

Why not try some German silver/nickel silver? It works quite a bit like silver for smithing and casting also it is a lot less expensive than silver.
