I wish to temper a length of sterling silver for a bangle. It needs to have some spring to it as it closes round the wrist with a hook one end and an eye the other end. I have read up on Google how to do this but the temperatures quoted are higher than domestic ovens by about 100 c. Anyone have any tips? I do not want to hammer the silver as I want a highly polished finish. I attach a photo of the design photoed of one I saw on a friends wrist…..
There was considerable strength and spring to the piece and it was hallmarked sterling silver.
