    Default hello everyone

    Hello everyone

I have just joined and wanted to say thank you to everyone who is part of this for all the useful tips and information I have seen so far - is anyone a member of the BJA and the Goldsmiths silver directory, and if so have they found it to be useful?

About me: I have been making and selling silver jewellery with semi precious stones for two years, mainly via a website but am now contacting shops, galleries etc after having done the Top Drawer show in September. I got into this after doing some courses as used to run an events business and be responsible for their marketing so a big change for me in direction!

Hi Katrina and welcome. We just had a bit of a discussion about BJA but I don't think we've talked about Goldsmiths.

To be honest it was disappointing as the cost of a stand is over £1,000 - the majority of jewllery stands were selling high fashion beads etc at 50p - £5 per item and the level of traffic to the stand was disappointing although good exposure all round and some new stockists for my work. I am doing the BCTF in Harrogate in April as I think that might be more suited to my work but any suggestions on trade fairs are very welcome.
