Is that Turquoise? . looks like it has been grooved for wire wrapping rather than bezel setting. for a stone that size I would be using 0.5mm fine silver for the bezel and either 0.8 or 1mm sterling...
Hi David it needs to be just over where it starts rounding, I stopped using the 0.3mm fine silver strip as it is too flimsy , I use either 0.4 or 0.5mm fine silver depending on the size of the cab.

This is the one I have purchased on advice from someone https://www.cooksongold.com/Resins-and-Crafts/Gel-Thixotropic-Resin-30g,-UN3082-prcode-860-037A . I will be using it with a cup turner which...
You could glue the stones in place and then encase them in an enamelling resin .
Look at the price tag lol , That is to cover the cost of all the stones they chipped while trying to drill holes . Always keep my eye open for any Lapidary work Dennis lol .
As Dennis has said not a good idea trying to drill a stone that size .
Or you can use diamond pastes for polishing . I cant stand the mess cerium makes lol
Do you want to send me a message on my website www.brightongemstones.co.uk and Im sure we can find some for you.
