'ello!
Hi everyone!
looks like a great forum (Im sure I recognise the odd name on here from other boards I frequent!)
Im based in manchester, and really enjoy metalworking. Ive started to think about making rings from patternwelded steels, and am just starting to thing about the options for lining them with non ferrous metals. Looks like the right place to be!
Ill be having a look at forgewelded stainless steels, and Mokume hopefully in the not to distant future
Ive already started to bid on intersting looking jewellery making tools on ebay,
anyhoo, sure ill have lots of questions as I get into this a bit!

Hi John...not been on here long myself. Hope to see some of your creations soon :-) I'm getting more into metalworking at the moment so may well have some questions for you ;-)

There's few odder John... I think even your littlest powerhammer is overkill for silver though!
Wouldn't have minded trying to work down my mokume billet with it; I think it would have done an excellent job - although I doubt the neighbours would agree.

If yer wants it thin, John's yer man :)

thanks for the welcome guys and gals!
hope I can make something worth showing here!
gonna have to downsize the toolkit a bit for some of the detail work me thinks! Peter, I did sell a baby power hammer to a full time silversmith about 3 years ago though :)

Hi John,
Welcome to the forum.
You might approach it as jewellery for elephants..only smaller!
Good luck with it all.
