Terms & Conditions of Employment


Hours:
  37.5 - Core hours vary to suit departmental requirements.
Holidays:
Holiday year January - December. 2/4 days to be allocated for Christmas close down and May week shutdown. 23 days plus 8 bank holidays (entitlement per annum). Thereafter, one day for every complete year of service to a maximum of 25 days.
Salary:
Paid last Friday of the month by automatic transfer of funds (direct credit).
No smoking policy:
Smoking is prohibited across the entire site.
Life Assurance:
All permanent employees are entitled to life assurance to the value of one years salary.
Cookson Pension Plan:
Occupational Pension Scheme - contributory. Inertia membership automatic entry into scheme unless written authorisation within 14 days of commencement confirming wish to opt out. Eligible to join after probationary period (permanent employees age 18 and over) on the 1st of the month. If member of scheme, the life assurance covver is equal to 3 times the anual salary. Eligibility after 6 months probation.
Cookson Share Save Plan:
Eligibility to join if completed 6 months service by the invitation date (normally September/October each year). Permanent employees only.
Bonus Scheme:
Discretionary - not contractual. Eligible to all premanent employees irrespective of hours worked. Payments (if targets reached), December and February on a pro-rata basis.
Canteen/Rest Room:
Food and drink vending machines available in canteen (drinks machines accross site).
Clothing policy:
Wearing of Jewellery/chain and tube/hoop earings is prohibited.
