The Bench Peg and Anvil set comprises of an anvil
made from metal, and a wooden bench peg. The ideal
tool for those who don't have a Jewellers Bench.
The Peg is secured to the bench with a G Clamp,
with the 'slanted' surface uppermost.
The top of the clamp has a flat smooth surface which
is used as the Anvil - hence 'Bench Peg & Anvil'.
The peg should have an upside down 'V' cut into it
to help support the metal when being pierced.
The clamp opens to 5cm / 2".
Spare Bench pegs available 999 083.
NB. These differ to the ordinary Peg as they are
narrower in width. (Ordinary pegs may be used if cut
to size - 999 081).

Rating 5 out of 5 Ace for Space, 1 Nov 2008
By Jacqui Scrace
Having recently joined a silver smithing class I couldnt wait to get stuck in at home too After reading other reviews this Bench Peg and Anvil was an obvious first item to go for. It is fab - transforms my table into a temporary work bench ... and along with the saw blades and a few files Im off Grab this item while discounted.

Rating 3 out of 5 bench pin great Anvil not so good, 31 Oct 2008
By Wesley Sharp
The bench pin is very useful, great that it can be clamped to almost any table for working with. The Anvil I was sent has alot of saw marks and will mark any metal hammered onto it. Making it almost useless unless I spend hours to lap it smooth. I feel like I bought an expensive G-clamp and a piece of wood.

Rating 4 out of 5 Good for hobbyists, 6 Aug 2008
By S Skeeles
This bench peg is good for hobbyists as it enables you to use any work surface for jewellery making - I clamp mine to the kitchen table The surface of the anvil peeled a little through repeated hammering, but all in all a good buy.
