Made from steel with a wooden handle.
Used in the first stages of raising on a soft support
eg wooden cup. The metal is shaped into a dish shape to
give a firm form with which to work.
After raising has been completed if the form is to have
a rounded bottom the 'Blocking Hammer' is used to round
out the bottom from the inside of the vessel - hence the
long arms!
