Made from metal and wood, the drill stands about 30cm
high. Comes unassembled!
Operated by twisting the wooden handle around the centre
pole, this in turn twists the cord. Once the cord is
suffiently twisted the wooden handle is moved up and
down. This motion rotates the drill bit.

Truly Excellent Bow Drill, 9 Feb 2009

This is a lovely tool to use with a smooth, continuous drilling action. At first it looked a bit tricky, but is in fact really easy and gives great results. You only need one hand to operate it, so leaves the other one free to secure or alter the position of your jewellery piece.
