The Bench Peg and Anvil set comprises of an anvil
made from metal, and a wooden bench peg. The ideal
tool for those who don't have a Jewellers Bench.
The Peg is secured to the bench with a G Clamp,
with the 'slanted' surface uppermost.
The top of the clamp has a flat smooth surface which
is used as the Anvil - hence 'Bench Peg & Anvil'.
The peg should have an upside down 'V' cut into it
to help support the metal when being pierced.
The clamp opens to 5cm / 2".
Spare Bench pegs available 999 083.
NB. These differ to the ordinary Peg as they are
narrower in width. (Ordinary pegs may be used if cut
to size - 999 081).

It adjusts to fit any surface, ideal as I have no permanent work area at home and easy use as a portable worktool. The anvil is great for the small forging tasks I need and I would not be without it.

Rating 4 out of 5 Great for those new to jewellery making, 25 Mar 2009
By Claire Hawkins
I found this a really useful product as I am new to making jewellery. I would have found it more useful if a V had been pre-cut in the wooden block. Much cheaper than purchasing a silver block to hammer on, and clamps and a wooden bench peg. A bargin for the price

Easily adjustable to fit to any work surface, so ideal if youre short of space. The anvil surface started to flake away quite early on, but still a good basic buy.
